Laser Vision Correction

Contoura Laser Eye Surgery

Contoura Vision uses a detailed map of your corneal surface to guide laser treatment — personalising correction beyond spectacle power alone.

Call Now
Every cornea has a unique surface with tiny irregularities. Topography-guided treatment such as Contoura Vision uses thousands of measurement points to plan laser correction. Whether it is suitable for you is decided after a comprehensive corneal assessment.

What is Contoura Vision?

Contoura Vision is a form of topography-guided LASIK. Instead of treating only your spectacle prescription, the laser treatment is planned using a detailed topographic map of the front surface of your cornea. This may help address minor corneal irregularities along with myopia and astigmatism, in selected patients.

Symptoms & signs

  • Myopia with or without astigmatism
  • Desire to reduce dependence on glasses
  • Suitable corneal topography on assessment

Causes & risk factors

  • Refractive error from corneal curvature or eye length
  • Minor corneal surface irregularities

Who needs this treatment?

  • Adults with stable prescription
  • Adequate corneal thickness
  • Regular, healthy corneas on tomography
  • No active eye disease

How it is diagnosed

  • Corneal topography (multiple captures for accuracy)
  • Tomography and pachymetry
  • Refraction
  • Tear film assessment
  • Dilated retina examination

Treatment options

Contoura Vision

i-LASIK

Standard laser correction when topography-guided treatment is not needed.

Frequently asked questions

It is a type of LASIK planned using corneal topography. Whether it offers an advantage depends on your corneal map; your surgeon will advise.

Suitability depends on corneal thickness and prescription. Very high powers may be better suited to ICL.

The laser treatment itself is brief; plan for a few hours at the hospital.
